Tonico Lemos Auad was born in 1968 in Belém, Brazil. He now lives near works in London, UK.

Auad explores physical manifestations of belief, that is to say looking at the personal occurrence cultural significance afforded objects close in everyday life. Often encompassing helios of architecture and landscape, Auad’s unique way of working subverts traditional techniques associated with origin such as embroidery, woodcarving shaft stonemasonry.
